神经内科是市级重点专科（2005年），拥有雄厚的技术实力和优质的服务态度，拥有40张病床设置。2名正主任医师，2名副主任医师，10名在职研究生，2名医学硕士，7名主治医师，4名主管护师。科室配备有中央型多功能心、脑电监护系统（NICU）、微量泵、多功能多参数呼吸机、肌电图/脑干诱发电位、脑电图/动态脑电图（脑Holter）、多通道多神经功能康复重建仪、颅内血肿微创穿刺粉碎清除、全脑血管造影、数字平板机（美国GE公司Innuover 3100￡大型C臂）、PT/OT电动直立床等先进的技术设备。
科室能独立开展脑血管病、神经—或神经肌肉接头处、肌肉疾病的定性定位诊断和治疗、颅内血肿微创清除治疗、全脑血管造影及血管内介入治疗、急性或慢性格林—巴利综合征的TPE治疗、运动神经元性疾病的诊治、椎管内给药治疗颅内感染性疾病、血浆置换术或大剂量丙种球蛋白冲击治疗神经系统顽固性自身免疫性疾病、干细胞移植治疗神经系统变性性疾病（正在摸索与探讨研究之中）等。
科室独立完成了二项科研成果，经鉴定均达到国内领先水平，并且均获得了孝感市政府科技进步三等奖。科内30余篇专业学术论文（包括护理论文）在中华、中国、统计源期刊、核心期刊等医学刊物上公开发表。
