药学部现有专业技术人员39名，副主任药师2人，主管药师31人，药师5人，具有执业药师资格8人，下设12个班组。药学部拥有紫外分光光度仪、薄层色谱成像系统、药物溶出仪、旋光仪、电子分析平秤、永停滴定仪、酶免疫分析仪、集菌仪、多效制水机、中药多功能提取系统等先进仪器设备。 在库药品有近2770余品规。
药学部积极探索科研教学创新。5名药师常年在湖北职业技术学院、孝感市护士学校从事药理学等课程的带教工作，为本学科的发展起到了十分积极的作用。近几年来药学部有30多篇论文在国家级、省级杂志上发表，并编写了《药物制剂生产工艺与注解》、《临床常用药物指南》、《临床用药手册》等书，同时配合临床积极开展科研，先后完成了《救脑化瘀汤》、《湖北省孝感市城区气传花粉调查和研究》、《银杏叶提取物对大鼠结肠炎的治疗效果及机理研究》三项科研，达到国内领先水平。
