肛肠科是一个以中西医结合为特色的临床科室，现有副主任医师2名，主治医师3名，住院医师一名；其中硕士研究生2名，人才梯队结构合理，综合技术实力雄厚。近年来，肛肠科在医疗、教学、科研各方面都取得了令人瞩目的成绩，肛肠科现为中华中医药学会肛肠专业委员会理事单位；湖北省“1+8”武汉城市圈肛肠学会常务理事单位；湖北省结直肠肛门外科专业委员会委员单位；湖北省中西医结合学会肛肠专业委员会委员单位；孝感市中医药学会理事单位。
肛肠科现开放病床20张，设专科门诊1所。配备有多功能的心电监护仪、微量泵、肛肠动力学测试仪、肛肠多功能治疗仪、生物反馈治疗仪等先进的诊疗设备。能开展肛管、直肠、乙状结肠以及结肠疾病的诊断及治疗；肛肠动力学检测及大肠癌的初筛检查、PPH术治疗重度痔（痔上黏膜环切钉合术）、高位复杂性肛瘘的切开挂线治疗以及便秘的中西医结合治疗是我院肛肠科的特色。
在临床科研工作中，由首席科主任邱克主持研究的《黄芪注射液促进痔瘘创面修复的临床研究》科研课题通过了省级鉴定：达国内领先水平，全科共有40余篇学术论文在国家核心期刊上发表。
